Magic Black Men

Magic Black Men : Lets the Magic begins...

They speak all the languages of Mali. They speak several foreign languages. They make Rap, Raga, Soul, Zouk, Salsa, Traditional music and even Rock N' Roll. Not astonishing that they’re called Magic Black Men, they have always been present.
Along time before the tendency “Tata Pound”, at the first rap competition organised by the ORTM (Malian national TV), the Magic Black Men are the second; the applauding of the public puts them at the first place. It was in 1996, they were three: Don Mizero and Philosophie and Titi.

They always surprised people, because they controlled both rap and ragamuffin. A few times later, Titi left the band to continue his studies in a foreign country. It doesn’t stop the band.
They make several concerts. Their talent is noticeable. They are invited to the firt all stars of the rap against aids where the best bands of the time such as Zotto Boys, Rabba Boyz and Rage were all present.
A few times later, they take part in a concert in Burkina Faso organised by the Fespaco. At that time, it seems that nothing can slow down the speed of the Magic Black Men. And yet, like a magic phenomena, Don Mizero and Philosophie disappeared from the musical scene and from the hip hop movement. No one would hear of them for 5 years.

It’s in 2001 that we see them again. Yéli Fu knew them for very long. He was even a fan before becoming a rapper too.
In 2001, a lot of things have changed; Yéli Fuzzo is now well known in the hip hop circle and directs his own production society "Invasion Records".

When he heard that Don Mizero and Philosophie are ready to return on stage, he went to them without hesitating. They understand each other immediately and the MBM accept the offer. Thus the album is released in July 2001 on the label "Invasion Records". The Magic Black Men are now mature.

During 5 years, Don Mizero and Philosophie have been working with professionals.
They didn’t stop music, but improved their style. Already respected in 1996, they create a new style.

The MBM are unique. They create a new dance: "Kessero". The Malian public applauds once more their originality.
In February 2002, on the occasion of the CAN 2002 that takes place in Mali, they released a new album: "Lume" that represent a new dance. Now their public is composed of young and old people because they sing for every body…with a maturity that should sometimes be help by magi.
