Adama Yalomba
Author, composer, interpreter and
arranger, Adama Yalomba, of her real name Adama Traoré
was born in the middle of the Seventies in Ké-Macina. His father,
Samandji Traoré, was at the same time a peasant and an experienced
artist of the locality. It’s precisely beside his late father, a
virtuoso of the Dan, that our artist learned how to decline the first
notes of this mythical instrument with six cords and six handles which
is generally played to accommodate the adventurers on the public places.
And those, in return, must tell the adventures of their stay abroad. The
formation lasted fifteen years during which Adama furrowed all the deep
Mali.
Excellent percussionist, guitarist (n’goni,
dan and acoustic guitar), our Adama end
up in the Balazan of Segou (a formation of young talents of the fourth
economic area of Mali). One year later, it integrated the "Bronkoni"
of Niono (another formation headlight of the same area). In 1992, Adama
arrives in Bamako with the ambition to share his experience. Awa
Dramé, Bakoroba Diabaté, Nanou
Coul are the first served.
1995, Adama Yalomba releases his first album "Yalomba" by Maïkano,
a fabulous hit which had a huge success at the national level.
1997, he signs with Labita his second
album "Ni kelenni kadi" (this is better).
By signing with Samassa records his third album, "Gnumankè",
in duet with Awa Bako Diabaté, Adama Yalomba impose himself with
his style, his genius, the relevance of his topics, the purity of his
voice and his brilliant way of playing guitar like a sure value of the
Malian music.
In 2000, he signs with Mali k7 SA "M’bora"
(lessons and experiences drawn of his journeys). Recorded and mixed at
the studio Bogolan of Bamako by Yves Wernert, M’bora is put on sale
on April 19, 2001; a mature album which confirms his talent.
After his scenic experiences in France and Malaysia, our Adama records
his new hit in 2003. It is presently being mixing at the studio Bogolan.
Koffi on promotion tour
Within the context of the promotion of his new album "Affaire d’Etat"
released in two volumes, Koffi Olomidé will undertake
an African tour. The Malian stage of this tour is scheduled for next 17
May at the stadium Modibo Kéita starting from 5 p.m... Of a source
close to the organisation commission of this mega - show, all the technical
dispositions were taken for this event. "Affaire d’Etat"
which is the title of his hit is on sale in Mali distributed by Mali k7
SA.
Meeting of family
Within the context of the policy of his department, the Minister of the
culture Cheick Oumar Sissoko met the artists of Mali
on Saturday April 12, 2003 at the Palace of the culture Amadou Hampaté
Ba,. After having ensured the artists that their living and working conditions
will improve and that it passes not only by the fight against piracy,
but more especially by the subscription for the social security, He exhorted
them to go to the lawsuit of May 5 which will oppose more than a dozen
of artists to a distributor of the place. Reason? Piracy and fraudulent
importation of tapes.
Bad news
it is with dismay and a deep pain that we learned the death of Mr. Dramane
Souaré, father of our friend Modibo Souaré, animator of
the TV emission "Jouvence ". The editorial staff of the Mag
and the ensemble of the workers of Mali K7 SA join up to the mourning
family. |
