Habib
is back on top form
The
prince of the Khaso and king of the Donso dansa, Habib
Koité is back to the fold. He’s back from holidays
he largely deserved after the restless assault to open widely the
doors of the international show-biz. He travelled around France and
Belgium with his family. As we wished him, these holidays have been
very beneficial for the mega-star who’s back on top form. Habib
will immediately take back his pilgrimage stick with his famous band
Bamada. They are awaited in Australia where he will animate about
fifteen concerts.
His producer and tour manager Michel De Bock
came from Abidjan (he took part in the Masa) to Bamako. ”I
came to Bamako to visit the musicians and their families, my visit
coincides with the biennale, and I discover that Mali is excessively
rich in culture. Today, there is a political will to make things move,
we’ll going to help to change things for the welfare of the
authors” he told us.
Rose
perfumes the biennale
The star of the Bélédugu, Rokia
Traoré is back to the fold. The rose will bring her perfume
and especially her talent to the artistic and cultural biennale. She
will animate the closing ceremony of this cultural manifestation with
Habib Koité.
Malians still remember the wonderful show of Rokia at the cinema Babemba
organised to dedicate her third album “Bowboï". She
then travelled to France where she was the special guest of athletic
championship at the” Stade de France” at Saint-Denis,
in the Parisian suburb. She’s on top form and promises to move
the stadium Modibo Kéita on September 17th as she did at the
Babemba on last July.
SO DO YOUR BEST NOT TO MISS THIS RENDEZ-VOUS.
Amkoullel
dedicates "Surafin"
On last September 5th (Friday), the Malian rappers had a rendezvous
in the garden of the hotel Baobab at Faso Kanou to welcome the new
album "Surafin" of the handsome Amkoullel.
Except Di Fresh and Déné
who were absent for health reason, all the generation of rap, zouk,
soul and variety was present to witness the party. The rendezvous
respected all it promises despites
some
problems with the sound system, the conscious generation sand and
danced until 6 o’clock in the morning. His album "Surafin"
which was planned to be put on sale on September 5th will be put on
sale next Thursday.
Yeli
Fuzzo and SNK are back to studies
Holidays are finished for the brothers Konaté of the great
Malian family of rap. Yes, Yeli
Fuzzo (Yeli Konaté) and SNK
(Seydou Nourou Konaté) are back to the States to continue their
studies. The fans of the hip hop keep a good souvenir of their stay
in Bamako; stay that was marked by the release of Yeli
Fuzzo’s album "Je rappe donc je suis". The hit
"Djaka" of this album is played every time in the dance
clubs and “Balani” animations. The palace of culture Amadou
Hampaté Bâ of Bamako was full on July 12th for the dedication
concert. All the rappers of Bamako (SNK,
Fanga Fing, Ta-K-Mi,
Magic Black Men,
Menes, Raphaël,
Tata Pound…) were
there with Yeli, this is why a lot of young trendy people of the capital
came. He makes it again a few days later. The thing you don’t
know is that Yeli is a model because he’s conscious and responsible.
Yes, with the money these concerts bring him, Yeli pays his brother’s
and his studies in the United-states. Is he not e reference for the
young people of his generation and a denial to people who say that
rap in a music of delinquents? We can’t wait for the next holidays.
Boncana
Maïga and Benson Diakité in Bamako
At the moment, we have two illustrious guests with us: Boncana
Maïga and Benson Diakité.
These two illustrious sons of the country are invited at the biennale
and members of the jury of the competition. Animator at the radio
RFI, Abdoulaye Benson Diakité
is a great servitor of Africa because he’s always fighting for
the promotion of the African culture and artists. He’s also
a producer and he wants to implicate more in the promotion and revelation
of young Malian artists.
Boncana Maïga, the maestro is no
more a stranger in the African musical surroundings. Although he’s
the animator of the emission "Star Parade" of international
France canal (CFI), he’s a worker in the shadow, a talent maker
because he’s an arranger. His label is well known every where
in the world. Pierrette Adams, Oumou
Sangaré, Kandia
Kouyaté, Amy Koïta,
Hadja Soumano, Africando,
Kamaldine, Missia
Saran, Ibro Diabaté…
won’t deny it. Great salseros, Boncana is a stickler on all
the rhythms. He thinks that Mali is full of talents to reveal. He
wants to put his know how to the service of the promotion and blooming
of these young talents. He’s even thinking of coming back definitively
in Mali. It’s the wish of the minister of culture Cheick
Oumar Sissoko whose ambition is to unite all the illustrious
artists of this country to permit him to take the maximum of advantage
of this huge cultural and artistic potentiality.
